What is photoshop?

Adobe Photoshop is a dominant editing software which has full-featured editing tools to create digital paintings, and drawings which can look like they have been created by hand.

It was developed and published by Adobe Inc. for Windows and macOS. It was created by Thomas and John Knoll in 1988 and since then it has become an industry-standard not only in raster graphics but digital art as a whole.

There are so many tools in photoshop that one cannot fully know about every tool. We have made a list of 6 tools that are considered important in photoshop. These tools fall under the categories of drawing, painting, measuring and navigation, selection, typing, and retouching.

In the free-form tool, the creator can draw paths freehand but in the magnetic tool, the creator draws paths that are closer to the image, like an outline. It can be used to isolate the background from the image.

2.       Clone stamp tool -
Clone duplicates one part of the image on the other part of the image by a way of the brush. It is very useful in duplicating objects in the image and removing defects in the image. It can be used in full or in some parts depending on the mode.

3.       Shape tools –
It provides variants in shape tools like rectangle, rounded rectangle, ellipses, polygons, and lines. It can be manipulated with the help of a pen tool. Photoshop also provides its own tools like animals, signs, and plants.

The eyedropper tool selects a color from an area of the image that is clicked and stores it for future use.  The hand tool navigates an image by moving it in any direction and the zoom tool helps in zooming the image for a closer view.
